WELCOME TO RAMONES MUSEUM BERLIN

THE RAMONES are from New York, everyone knows that. So you might ask yourself:Why the hell is the first and only RAMONES MUSEUM not in New York, L.A., London, Tokyo, Rome or Buenos Aires, but in Berlin, Germany?!?... Good question.

SO HERE'S THE STORY:

BORN TO DIE IN BERLIN

BORN TO DIE IN BERLIN

THE RAMONES at the Berlin Wall, November 27, 1989!

RAMONES MUSEUM founder Flo Hayler started his collection of RAMONES memorabilia 18 years ago, launching his insanity with the ticket stub, poster and shirt from his first ever RAMONES concert in 1990.

GLAD TO SEE YOU GO

One day, after month and years of hanging out with THE RAMONES and spending billions of Euros on collectors trade fares and ebay, the space on the walls of Flo Hayler’s apartment in BERLIN! were covered with RAMONES stuff.

One day, his girlfriend decided the stuff has to go (smart move).

THE GATE TO HEAVEN: ENTRANCE TO THE FIRST RAMONES MUSEUM, September 2005

In September 2005, 1 year after Johnny Ramone had died, the first version of the RAMONES MUSEUM opened its doors to the public.

The idea was to create a place for fans. Not just RAMONES fans, but music fans. A place where memories could be shared and stories could be told.

After 2 years and attracting more than 10.000 visitors from all over the world, the first RAMONES MUSEUM had to close because the landlord tripled the rent. In November 2007, the RAMONES MUSEUM had to leave in order to make space for a soap shop.

THE NEW RAMONES MUSEUM, Summer 2009

In July 2008, Flo joined forces with his friend Svana, who is now in charge of the place and runs the excellent museum café CAFÉ MANIA!

CAFÉ MANIA invites our visitors to have a coffee, a beer or some decent food before or after their time warp through RAMONES history.

ALL of the 300 memorabilia items from the first museum + another 200 never before pieces of RAMONESare now back.

This RAMONES MUSEUM opened October 8, 2008.

It’s a place for us – the fans.

And it was built to last.

Enjoy the ride!
